First and foremost, let me put this out there... I am NOT GIVING ANY KIND OF LEGAL ADVICE. This is just how I helped organize all the court documentation for my friends child custody matters with his ex. I will include links to some of the forms I use to keep track of information to have on hand for court but again, THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE.
My friend has an 8 year old daughter and until she's 18 it's a constant child custody battle and keeping track of all the necessary information and paperwork was becoming quite a hassle. I searched "Organizing Child Custody Paperwork" "Maintaining Child Custody Papers" and any other combination or change of phrase there of and found NOTHING. I guess they don't realize just how many families go pro-se, or just want to keep things more organized than just in a box.

4" Binder
All Your Documents/Information
Print Outs of All the Printables (available below, or make your own)
Instructions
- To begin print off the Divider Pages which also includes the cover page and binder spine for the binder. Once you have them printed place each in a sheet protector and then into your binder in the order you feel would be most helpful to you (this is why there is no Table of Contents because you may not need all the sections or you may have a different order that works best for you). Also, the 1-31 Divider Tabs will come with a TOC sheet you can fill in. I know the number pages are shallower than the sheet protectors, but they're still easy to find since everything else is black and white.
- 3 hole punch all documents so that they fit neatly in the binder, be careful 3-hole punching originals, I, personally, would only do copies and keep your originals in a box.
- Once you have all your sections laid out and your pages punched place them in your binder. I have a few sheets that I've built that I find helpful for maintaining information. My Incidents of Contempt, Timeline Summary, Weekly Calendar 10/04-08/22, All my printables are free to download I only ask that you do not sell or steal my work and please leave all copyrights in place. If you would like to share my documents please direct them to my blog, do not re-link.

Only 2 years in the court system and this is how thick his binder is. AND this is only the pertinent information, I have hundreds of other sheets that I have scanned in for him using my NeatDesk scanning software & scanner.
Just remember, with planning and organization, you CAN do it all.
